Dear Customers, Suppliers and Friends of Reliable Roofing,

As you know, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker issued Executive Order 2020-10 this afternoon. This order is commonly known as the “stay-at-home” order in the governor’s attempt to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Because Reliable Roofing is a construction company, we are allowed to operate under several provisions of the executive order. Accordingly, employees of Reliable Roofing are permitted under the executive order to leave their homes to perform work for Reliable Roofing and its customers. Our employees will continue to practice the sanitation and social distancing protocols with which you are no doubt familiar by now. The safety of our employees is always paramount. Personnel who are not feeling well will stay home.

About Executive Order 2020-10

The order very generally prohibits “non-essential” travel from outside the home. However, there are many broad exceptions to the order stated within the document itself. For example, Section 5(d) expressly allows people to leave their homes to perform many types of work. It states that people may leave their home “to perform work providing essential products and services at Essential Businesses or operations…” The order also allows persons to leave their homes to perform “Minimum Basic Operations.”

Persons who work in “Essential Businesses” or provide “Critical Infrastructure” and who are employed in “Critical Trades” are all expressly allowed to leave their homes and perform their jobs. Also, people who supply or support these “Essential Businesses” or “Essential Infrastructure” are also expressly permitted to go to work and do their jobs. “Construction”, without any limiting language, is specifically listed as “Essential Infrastructure” work. “Building and Construction Tradesmen and Tradeswomen” are specifically listed in Section 12(h) of the order as being in “Critical Trades”. Finally, construction suppliers and hardware stores are allowed to remain open during the period of the “stay-at-home” order. For these reasons, Reliable Roofing is allowed to remain open and work during the “stay-at-home” period. It is also our belief that our industry suppliers as well as retail suppliers such as Home Depot and other hardware stores will be open.

Construction Businesses Essential

The construction and maintenance of roofs is essential to sheltering homes, healthcare facilities, institutions and all businesses. Therefore, Reliable Roofing will continue to perform the work our customers demand. We stand ready to help you keep your people, buildings, and property safe from the elements. Thank you for your loyalty and friendship during these extraordinary times.

Sincerely,

Mike Zimmermann
